Forms
Prayer Requests and Who Can See Them
Prayer Request is one of the five form templates. It is the one worth thinking about before you use it, because of who can read the answers.
Who can read prayer requests
Section titled “Who can read prayer requests”Everyone on your staff who can see Forms. Prayer requests are not one of Church HQ’s protected categories, the way giving and children’s information are. There is no separate tick to limit them to your pastoral team.
Tell your team that before you publish the form, and tell the people filling it in what to expect. A line such as “Your request is read by our pastoral staff” is honest if your staff is small; if it is not, say so.
If a request is too sensitive for that
Section titled “If a request is too sensitive for that”- Ask people to contact a person directly for anything they do not want the office to see.
- Keep the form for the ordinary things, which is most of them.
Setting up the form
Section titled “Setting up the form”- Choose Forms in the sidebar.
- Under Start from a Template, choose Prayer Request.
- Edit the wording so it sounds like your church, and add a line about who reads it.
- Share it. See Share a Form.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- A submission can start a workflow, so a request can create a task for whoever prays through them each week. See Create a Workflow.
- This may change. Church HQ’s team knows churches ask for prayer requests to be restricted; if that matters to yours, tell us at help@mychurchhq.com.
Still stuck? Contact the Help Desk at help@mychurchhq.com and tell us which guide you were following.
